Welcome to Scrap Tower, my little corner of the world, where I share my creativity with you.

I enjoy many forms of crafting, from paper crafting to sewing. I make custom greeting cards for family and friends. I've made unique custom cards commissioned by friends.

I am proud to have been a card maker for the organization Operation Write Home (OWH) for several years supplying 1,000+ handmade cards for our HEROES.

I continue to make cards as gifts or to sell and I am testing a few other sewing and crochet projects to sell.

My current charitable project is Sew Powerful Purse and I have sewn and donated 20+ purses in the past two years. I plan to donate 10+ purses in 2018.

I enjoy sharing my creative passion with others, including children in Sunday School and Bible School, etc.

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge - Mother's Day

Hi all !  I have been so busy I have not had a chance to post many creations lately.  I have been working on my box of Half Mother's Day Cards / Half General Cards to send to OWH very soon. Right now my total count is 50.


I have several Mother's Day cards to share with you today, in addition to the ones that I have posted in previous challenges.


#1) I have always liked yellow roses, so this is a favorite DCWV paper, from one of the 6x6 pads. The plaid yellow is from the same pad. 


MOM - yellow roses


I used EK Border punches on yellow card stock and textured white card stock for the layers.  The sheer yellow ribbon was purchased by the yard at our local variety store. I cut the word 'mom' with my Craft Robo.  


I have used this design with pink roses and red roses and changed the sentiment for whatever occasion I needed.

#2) Believe it or not, I designed this next card while riding in the car on the way to visit my husband's aunt in Marietta, GA! 

I took my bag of basic scrapbook/card making tools. We stopped at a couple of craft and scrapbook stores between home in SC and Marietta, GA. I picked up a few interesting pieces of paper and could not wait to start making cards, even while winding through the mountains of NE GA.

MOTHER - Botanique

I purchased the ribbon from Michael's dollar bin first, just because I thought it was interesting. I had no idea that the next place I visited would have paper that matched so perfectly !!

The paper is American Crafts Botanique series - Elanor is the floral design and Greta is the smaller print. I used the solid colors on the reverse of each print too. I regret that I purchased only one sheet of each.  

The sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle delight*ful collection D-232. I added three tiny gemstones on the sentiment banner.

    Re: the 2nd card: I like this paper and the card is so pretty! Your story reminds me of how I designed/created my personal Christmas cards this year. On the way to a hotel in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, we stopped at the biggest-ever scrapbook store that I had discovered some time before. I love snowmen, so bought a cute patterned paper in blues, whites, and a little green w/ snowmen, matching cardstock for layering, and snow flake stickers. I put it all together at the hotel. Turned out great :)

    Both of your cards are lovely! The yellow roses are beautiful and I like your layout with the border punches and the cutout sentiment. The ribbon for the second card is interesting, and I love the rounded corners - they complement that fab paper.
