WELCOME

Welcome to Scrap Tower, my little corner of the world, where I share my creativity with you.

I enjoy many forms of crafting, from paper crafting to sewing. I make custom greeting cards for family and friends. I've made unique custom cards commissioned by friends.

I am proud to have been a card maker for the organization Operation Write Home (OWH) for several years supplying 1,000+ handmade cards for our HEROES.

I continue to make cards as gifts or to sell and I am testing a few other sewing and crochet projects to sell.

My current charitable project is Sew Powerful Purse and I have sewn and donated 20+ purses in the past two years. I plan to donate 10+ purses in 2018.

I enjoy sharing my creative passion with others, including children in Sunday School and Bible School, etc.

OWH Mid-Week Throwdown - 5/29/2013

The Midweek Throwdown today at Stars and Stamps, the Blog for Operation Write Home, is to make any occasion cards using something on the card that represents transportation.

I made these two cards recently with a 'used' stamp that I bought at a LSS nearby.  I am always looking for things to use for masculine cards, and really liked this stamp.  It is by Great Impressions.

The argyle pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye, Fine and Dandy. The other pattern paper was in my scrap box.

This was card featured as Operation Write Home, Stars and Stamps,  Sketch #183 on July 28, 2013.

Horse Lover Hello

I made this card earlier this week for those Heroes with horse lovers in their family.  I wanted a rustic but neat look, so I chose each element with that in mind.

Operation Write Home Sketch #155

Another fun Sketch for Operation Write Home this Sunday - #155!!

I colored several digital stamps in the evening this past week. Today's sketch was inspiration for using this adorable little "Bear with Sunflower" digi  from Dilly Bean.  I colored the digi with Copics (which I am really a beginner at - I think I got lucky on this one).

The papers are Wild Asparagus from My Mind's Eye 2006.  I've had the papers for a while, but I probably purchased them at the Scrapbook Super Store or Scrapbook Clearance Store in Pigeon Forge, TN.  (yay !! one of my favorite places)

OWH Sketch #154

We have a very fun sketch today for Operation Write Home.  OWH is also promoting cards for kids during January, so I combined the two for Sketch #154.

I am dedicating this Smiling Face Card to my friend Sherry in NM whose second daughter, Mia, was born on Friday, January 4.  Sherry sent me a picture of her beautiful little girl and it made me smile.

OWH Sketch #153 - Dance In The Rain

Happy New Year everyone!

This is my submission for Operation Write Home Sketch #153.
Dance In The Rain
I stamped this "Dance In The Rain" sentiment on several scrap pieces last night without a real plan to use them.  When I saw today's sketch, I decided it would be a good one for this sentiment.

The stamp is Stampabilities #G1115  called "Dance In The Rain". All the papers are scraps from my stash.  The purple is Bazzill Purple Pizzazz, but I don't know about the others.  The Buttons and Hemp string are also from my stash of supplies.

If you notice, the mat for the sentiment is two triangles.  That is actually the result of my error in cutting the mat the same size as the sentiment. Rather that cut another piece, I cut it in half diagonally and offset the corners.  I like how it turned out and think that the split mat adds interest to the focal point.
