Glitter Free Bling

You & Me  Gold Glitter Free

Glitter Free Bling is this week's OWH challenge. For me, bling is bright and shiny, so as soon as I read the challenge, I knew that I wanted gold or silver in my card. This morning, armed with coupons, I was off to the craft stores looking for one or two things to help me come up with my bright and shiny card.

My first stop was Wilson's, a local shop that would have been called a "five & dime" about fifty years ago. They have a little bit of everything and Wilson's is my "go to" for ribbon.  They have a wall with shelves and shelves of ribbon that you purchase by the yard.  I found the punched ribbon that I used on this card there.  It is very much like the negative sequin ribbon, but a different material.

Then I was on to A C Moore's where I found the brown and gold swirl paper that I used. It is #PA-1241 by ATD a division of Momenta. When I saw this paper, I knew I was on the right track.  I also found some gold swirl bling stickers by Jolee's, but haven't used them yet. I am still working on some alternate layouts with this paper and hope to utilize the stickers too.The gold embossed paper was in my stash at home.  I am not sure when or where I got it, but it seem perfect for this Glitter Free Bling card!  I turned to the OWH sketches for layout inspiration and things came together when I saw Sketch #26. I did not follow it exactly, but it is very close.

The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado #97619 Hearts and Love clear stamp set. The sentiment is inked and embossed in gold.

I could not get a good picture of my card without a little shadow on it, but I hope that you can see that it is bright and shiny. My husband said that "it looks like an expensive card."

Here is an alternate card using the gold swirl bling stickers. The first one is my favorite.
Love You Gold Glitter Free

  2. Terrific card! I am a metal girl at heart so I am drooling over the papers and ribbon you used. Love the embossing and I think you picked a great sketch to show off all the elements in your card. Thanks for playing in our Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!
