WELCOME

Welcome to Scrap Tower, my little corner of the world, where I share my creativity with you.

I enjoy many forms of crafting, from paper crafting to sewing. I make custom greeting cards for family and friends. I've made unique custom cards commissioned by friends.

I am proud to have been a card maker for the organization Operation Write Home (OWH) for several years supplying 1,000+ handmade cards for our HEROES.

I continue to make cards as gifts or to sell and I am testing a few other sewing and crochet projects to sell.

My current charitable project is Sew Powerful Purse and I have sewn and donated 20+ purses in the past two years. I plan to donate 10+ purses in 2018.

I enjoy sharing my creative passion with others, including children in Sunday School and Bible School, etc.

OWH Mid Week Throwdown Challenge - Mother's Day

#1)  I downloaded the free OWH Mother's Day color digi for my first card.

A card for Mother

The DP is from K&Company Wild Saffron pad. I thought that the colors in the digi and the paper went well together. I used cardstock, ribbon purchased by the yard and gems from my stash. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

#2) My second card utilizes patterned paper from an old Scrapbook Wizard paper pad I picked up on sale a long time ago.
Happy Mother's Day
The embossing folder is Paper Studio Geo Squares. Sentiment is Studio G.  Again,  I used cardstock, ribbon purchased by the yard and gems from my stash. My husband asked for one of these cards for his mom.

I have more ideas for Mother's Day cards, so I will be posting more as I work on cards to send for the OWH Mother's Day Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Custom Valentine Card

When my friend Sherry found out that I make cards, she asked me to make a special Valentine card for her husband Brent. She told me a little bit about Brent's interests, special experiences and the fact that he is a Doctoral candidate at the University of South Carolina.

With Sherry's idea to make the card base a lab coat, my creativity kicked in and we had a design idea.  I was ready to research how I would make it a reality.

Lab Coat Card
Sherry contacted me tonight to let me know that Brent loved the card and the extra special "love note" she added inside.  Way to go Sherry!

My best wishes to Sherry and Brent and their sweet daughter for continued success and a bright future!

I custom designed the card and embellishments in the pockets using my Craft Robo and Klick N Kut Scan & Trace software.

OWH VCMP Challenge #13: Embossing

This is my submission for the OWH VCMP Challenge #13: Embossing.

Happy Mother's Day

Embossing Folder:  Quickutz Geometric Circles
Patterned Paper:  American Crafts Botanique
Ribbon:  Offray
Stamp:  Studio G

At first, I did not like this embossing folder or buy it when I saw it.  I could not imagine how I would use it.  When I found this paper, I was inspired and went out to buy the embossing folder.

I first designed this card for my daughter-in-law in a set of thank you cards that I made as a Christmas gift for her. I changed the sentiment for Mother's Day.

OWH VCMP Challenge #7: CAS (Clean and Simple)

Challenge #7 is to create a Clean and Simple card.

Clean & Simple -- Happy Easter

I've had an idea to make a simple card like this for a few weeks since being inspired by a teen's Bible cover.  Since I am working on a few Easter cards, I decided to use the Easter theme. I love yellow and purple for Easter. I thought this would be a good choice to submit for this challenge.

I used cardstock from my on hand supplies.
The sentiment is from the Inkadinkado Happy Everything set #95284

This is a very simple design, but I think it is eye-catching.   What do you think?  Thanks for stopping by.

VCMP Challenge #6: Sand and Sea

OWH Stars & Stamps challenge for Feb 8, 2012, called Sand and Sea is a color challengusing blues and tans.

I made two cards using the Martha Stewart Sand Dollar and Star Fish punch.
Sand Dollar .... Breathe

The sentiment is from Stampendous called Breathe, #N238.

Breathe in the freshness of the Sea
Breathe out the cares of the day

The stamped sentiment was not 'perfect', but I think it suits the weathered look and feel of these cards.
Star Fish .... Breathe

The paper is from my stash and I am not sure when or where I got it.

Thanks for stopping by.

ps.....I LOVE the sand and sea !!!!!
